Le Hoang Viet Cuong (MBA, 2017) and Hoang Ngoc Quynh (MSc Marketing, 2017), graduates from Nottingham Business School (NBS) have joined forces to launch Elingo IELTS (known as Elingo) in their home country of Vietnam.

Elingo is a start-up business providing IELTS training and teaching which incorporates the mission of empowering young Vietnamese students to succeed in their future careers.

Initially launching in Hanoi, Elingo is expected to expand to five locations across Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City by the end of 2018.

Cuong, who recently completed his MBA, serves as Elingo’s Director and is charged with planning and executing Elingo’s business plan as well as managing stakeholder relationships.

Cuong credits the MBA and his experience at NBS with providing the impetus to start his own business and become an entrepreneur.

Cuong commented, “I highly value the knowledge and experience that I gained from NBS. The MBA course provided me with a wide range of knowledge, from management, marketing, finance, leadership to operational topics such as strategic renewal and transformation strategy.

The MBA’s two consultancy projects also gave me unique insight into the business world, both in the UK and on an international level.

Overall, studying and living in Nottingham exposed me to high educational standards and experiences which I now aim to offer to our students at Elingo.”

Talking about future collaboration with his Alma matter, Cuong said, “I hope that Elingo can work closely with NTU to develop its alumni network in Vietnam and I'm willing to support NTU graduates to achieve their career goals.”

Nottingham Business School regularly visits Alumni when in-country to catch up and find out what they have been up to since graduation.
