Shashank Shivashankar (MSc International Business Single Award), has launched India’s first Nutella themed café called Tella Tales in his hometown of Bangalore.

After graduating from Nottingham Business School (NBS) in 2016, Shashank returned to Bangalore to gain experience working in his family business for six months before choosing to launch his own business.

As part of his course, Shashank visited Greece and undertook a consultancy project for one of the country’s most famous brands, Coco Mat who create specialist mattresses, other natural sleep products and furnishings.

The consultancy project aims to expose students to various socio-economic and cultural dynamics that characterise the international business environment.

Shashank credits the consultancy project with broadening his horizons and giving him the confidence to be an entrepreneur and open his own business.

Shashank said: “I went from consulting for one of Greece’s largest businesses to working with one of Italy’s most famous brands. The course really developed my thinking and this enabled me to run my own innovative business.”

James Stephenson, NBS Recruitment Officer recently met with Shashank in Bangalore where he offered NBS the use of Tella Tales for our regular alumni and offer holder events.

Gautam Sinha, an MSc Project Management offer holder who attended the event commented, “The event was really useful in terms of engaging with the NBS team, alumni and fellow offer holders. The collaboration made me feel positive about my decision to study at NBS and I am excited to be in Nottingham soon”.

NBS regularly visits Alumni when in-country to catch up and find out what they have been up to since graduation.
