Get involved in NTU’s Fairtrade Fortnight: 25th February – 10th March 2019
Look out for a range of events and activities to get involved in
Nottingham Trent University is proud to be a Fairtrade University. That means we only offer Fairtrade certified tea, coffee and hot chocolate in all of our catering outlets and hospitality offerings. We also sell a vast range of Fairtrade products through our cafes and SU shops, from chocolate to clothing! When you buy something with the Fairtrade logo, you know that the farmers have been paid a fair price for their produce.
For two weeks each year, thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to celebrate the people who grow our food, people who live in some of the poorest countries in the world and who are often exploited and badly paid. This year we are focusing on the people – in particular the women – who grow the cocoa in the chocolate we love so much.
Fairtrade Fortnight runs from 25th February until 10th March 2019. During this fortnight we will be running events for students and staff to get involved in: from market stalls on our campuses, to a fascinating speaker event and a Fairtrade football tournament! Look out for delicious Fairtrade desserts being served across the University and our baking photo competition with a chance to win prizes.
Have a look at the schedule of events on the right, or go to the Fairtrade events webpage to see all the events on during Fairtrade Fortnight.
