NTU Sport to host BUCS Midlands Conference Finals
On Wednesday 6 March, NTU will proudly host the annual BUCS Midlands Conference Finals Day. The culmination of a season’s work and dedication will come to a climatic close, as some of the best teams from around the region compete to be crowned champions in their respective sports.

For the first time in NTU Sport history, we are hosting the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Conference Finals. The event is an excellent showcase of University-level sport and is a key date in many students sporting calendar.
Hosting the event provides an opportunity to not only showcase the fantastic facilities on offer at Clifton campus, but gives all teams a high-quality environment to compete in and have the best experience possible as they battle for victory.
The day will see over 60 teams from across the Midlands competing in over 30 matches. With a day of sporting action from the best University teams in the Midlands, it is not to be missed.
The event is the accumulation of the Midlands conference cups and plate finals, 14 sports are being played throughout the day including Netball and Football. Previous hosts of the event include Leicester, Loughborough and Warwick.
With all teams still battling to reach the sports finals, NTU have plenty of teams in contention for cup and plate glory. The teams battling it out include; Women’s Volleyball 1, Men’s and Women’s Tennis 1, Men’s Rugby Union 5 and both Men’s and Women’s Fencing.
We felt NTU could provide a perfect back-drop for these finals, providing a great experience for these students in – for some – their final match in their university colours at the highest level of competition they will play

We are looking for volunteers to assist with the delivery of the event. We need people to help ensure teams are in the correct place, give out medals and media volunteers to collect match reports and content on the day.
If you are interested in gaining volunteering experience and helping to represent NTU to other Universities, please click here or contact andrew.shemeld@ntu.ac.uk (0115 848 6389) for more information.
Please note the Lee Westwood car park will be closed, but will remain open for disabled and public users. Due to the high volume of activity taking place on Clifton campus throughout the day, we expect campus to be busier than usual.
