The games take place in Napoli, Italy.

NTU have three students heading to Italy to represent Great Britain, including fencer, Danielle Lawson, archer, Sarah Moon and air rifle shooter, Kim Tzabach. The selected trio will be hoping to make their mark at the huge world event, which is expected to attract more than 100,000 live spectators and 1.5 billion TV viewers globally.

The games get underway on 3 July in the city of Napoli, Italy, where the athletes will compete at world-class sporting stadia around the City. With temperatures soaring upwards of 30 degrees it will be a tough test for the competitors at the games.

As well as a challenging climate, NTU students at the games can expect some of the highest calibre competitors they’ve met so far, as the world’s best student athletes will turn out with podium position firmly in their sights.

It’s fantastic that Sarah, Danielle and Kim have been selected to represent Team GB in Napoli this summer. They have all worked extremely hard to develop in their respective sports this year and this is excellent recognition for all that effort. It is also very pleasing to see NTU’s additional investment in women’s sport receiving this boost. Good luck girls!
