NBS postgraduate students take part in the Nottingham Digital Summit

NBS MSc Digital Marketing students recently took part in Nottingham Digital Summit in collaboration with Hallam Internet. They were given the opportunity to see the theory they have learnt being put in to practice in a digital marketing consultancy setting.

NBS MSc Digital Marketing students recently took part in Nottingham Digital Summit in collaboration with Hallam Internet. They were given the opportunity to see the theory they have learnt being put in to practice in a digital marketing consultancy setting.

Hallam Internet has won multiple national level awards for its expertise on digital marketing, from SEO to PPC to web design. They are also a Google premier partner and have been recognised for their expertise by the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Direct Marketing.

Nottingham Digital Summit is the Midland's biggest digital marketing event that brought together 750 delegates from the marketing, creative, and technology communities this year to Nottingham. NBS students had the opportunity to consult clients from Nottingham as their one-to-one clinic sessions. The team of Hallam Internet supported the students as they approached the consultancy.

Jordan Ola, a student from our MSc Digital Marketing course said, “The Digital Summit was an incredibly thought-provoking experience. Opportunities to learn from highly experienced professionals in their field are rare. The information gained and lessons learned from the Digital Summit are sure to have a big impact in my work as a digital marketer.”

Susan Hallam, the founder of Hallam Internet shared, "Working in partnership with the NTU students added a new dimension to the one-hour consultancy experience. It was an opportunity to learn from each other, share experiences, and work collaboratively. And we look forward to welcoming NTU to The Nottingham Digital Summit again next year."

NBS students had the opportunity to visit Susan Hallam in her office at Hallam Internet prior to the event and it was an inspiring evening for all our students.

Our MSc Digital Marketing course not only focuses on transferring the theories on Digital Marketing to students, but also allowing them to attain relevant practical experiences. This event is one of many other events that are organised throughout the year to facilitate experiential learning of our students. In the experiential learning, the links with our industry partners is one of the significant support structures to deliver unique and real-life business experiences to our students.

Course leader of MSc Digital Marketing course, Dr. Mojtaba Poorrezaei commented, “I am immensely proud of our students who are hardworking, committed and professional. Their contribution in the event was the best example of the successful transition from theory to practice. It has been a pleasure to have these students’ enthusiasm, positivity and maturity in my course.”
