Due to the uncertain times we are currently experiencing as a consequence of COVID-19, we have taken the decision to close our facilities

Closure of Gym and Sports Facilities

Our facilities remain closed.

We are currently working out how and when we can open our facilities safely. We will post further announcements and updates here and across our social media platforms.  As an institution our first priority is the safety of all our members and staff. If you have any questions please contact the team via email

Frequently Asked Questions

When will the Sports Centres reopen?

We are currently working out how and when we can open our facilities safely. We will communicate via email, social media and the NTU Sport website when we are able to reopen the Sports Centres.

What is the best way to get in contact with you during the closure?

You can reach us through email at We will be manning the inbox on Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm, and will aim to respond to your email within two working days. Please be aware, we are still receiving a high number of enquiries at the moment, which may lengthen this response time.

What will happen to my direct debit membership?

We have frozen direct debit memberships with immediate effect until further notice. Payments will not be collected by our direct debit company until we are able to reopen, and you are once again able to access our facilities. We are able to offer a freeze until the beginning of the next academic year.

I’ve paid for a Sports club membership for the whole year, will I receive a refund?

Each sports club invests membership fees for the year into coaches, facility hire and other overheads in order to bring you a great club to be involved in. Whilst we are extremely disappointed that the last term’s activities could not continue as planned, the funding invested in the clubs had already been committed and is there to ensure the sustainability of the clubs. We are therefore not in a position to provide a partial refund on your membership.

.What will happen to my staff My Benefits membership?

No more payments will be collected until we are able to reopen, and you are once again able to access our facilities. Any specific questions about these memberships should be directed to the My Benefits team at

I’ve paid for an Active membership for the whole year, will I receive a refund?

We will be offering partial refunds to all Active Members, which will cover the period from our closure until the end of the membership term on Monday 31st August 2020. The amount you will receive has been calculated by how much you paid for your membership, and pro-rated for the remaining number of months.

How can I receive my Active membership partial refund?

We have emailed you with this information, please check your student email account or personal email account.

When will I receive my refund?

Please be aware, we are expecting to process a large number of refunds, which will result in longer than usual wait times for the money to arrive in your account. The usual wait time is 3 weeks but we are expecting it to be slightly longer than this. When checking your account, you will need to look for Nottingham Consultants.

I’m a public or alumni member and the Sports Centres closed part way through my month membership. What will happen to the remainder of the month I’ve paid for?

We will carry forward any remaining days of your membership over to use when we reopen the facilities.

I purchased a fitness package and still have sessions left with a Fitness Instructor. What will happen to these remaining sessions?

Any fitness package sessions you have remaining can still be used when we reopen.
