December Reopening Plans

Following the latest government announcement, we are pleased to confirm that will will be reopening our facilities towards the start of December.

Since we have been temporarily closed, we have made a number of changes to improve your experience when using our facilities. We have made changes to the gym layout, which will allow you to enjoy your workout in a safe socially distanced way. As previously, we continue to follow government advise to ensure our members safety when using our facilities and equipment.

Fitness Classes

Following government advice, face to face fitness classes are currently suspended, however we will still continue to offer our extensive programme of Online Fitness Classes which can be found on our website.

You are able to take part in our classes simply by joining the NTU Sport Microsoft Teams page and selecting the class you would like to join. All classes are streamed live and can be done in the comfort of your own home. Daily class updates will be shared on our Instagram account.

NTU Sport App

Once our facilities reopen, you will be required to book your gym session in advance using the NTU Sport App. This will allow us to monitor the number of users throughout the day and prevent overcrowding. Classes will also be available and bookable via the NTU Sport App.

The NTU Sport App can be downloaded from the Play Store and the App Store. If you are having difficulty in accessing the NTU Sport App, please email us. You will need your Member ID to create your account, which can be found in the ‘Create New or Reset Password’ email.

Sports clubs

All sports club activity has been suspended and will resume on Thursday 3 December.

What is happening with my staff My Benefits membership?

The My Benefits team have taken the decision to cancel all My Benefits memberships. If you would like to restart your monthly membership, you can do so by filling out the Benefit Selection Form.

I’m a public or alumni member and the Sports Centres closed part way through my month membership. What will happen to the remainder of the month I’ve paid for?

We are now offering monthly direct debit memberships for public and alumni members in order to reduce contact at reception.

I have unused Fitness Package sessions, can they be carried forward?

Any unused sessions can be carried forward to the 2020/2021 academic year. Please get in touch with your Fitness Instructor to organise this.
