Colin Clarke Head of Hockey at NTU has been selected as the new head coach for the Finnish national hockey side

Colin Clarke

Alongside his role at NTU, Colin is also a head coach at Beeston Hockey Club for the Ladies 1st XI. Colin is one of our most experienced coaches and has had great success at international level in his previous roles, as head coach for the England U21 team and in his role as Assistant Coach for Great Britain’s Under 21 men’s side.

On news on his new appointment Colin commented:

“I am delighted to accept the offer and I am really looking forward to working with the Federation and the Finnish National Team with a focus towards the European Championships and creating a player pathway to create Finnish International players of the future. Our short-term aim is to bring a youthful squad together in preparation for the European Championships in 2021, whilst increasing the performance player pool, to create a sustainable and competitive national squad.

I am appreciative of Nottingham Trent Universities support to enable me to undertake this role”.

Colin was ultimately successful due to his significant international experience, strong educational background and a genuine proven desire to help players with their development.

Colin is not only a experienced coach but also had a very successful playing career, having represented Ireland in the U16, U18 and U21 national teams and representing Scotland in the national team.

We are pleased to confirm that Colin will continue in his role at NTU supporting our talented students.
