Reserve your free place for our next WRAP Live! on Wednesday 31 March, presented in partnership with UNESCO Nottingham City of Literature and Nottingham Creative Writing Hub.

We’ll be livestreaming Dr Becky Cullen and current Writing, Reading and Pleasure (WRAP) Featured Writer, Ashley Hickson-Lovence, as they chat about his explosive debut novel The 392, which explores a 36-minute bus journey.

A former teacher with an interest in inspiring reluctant readers, Ashley is currently writing about Uriah Rennie, the Premier League's first black referee. Becky will be asking about the stops on Ashley’s own writing route, as well as passing questions about black football players and referees, and what happens when you take up your position in the writing area.

In addition to a reading by Ashley, you’ll be treated to a performance from a local Nottingham writer, and a student writer from the WRAP Programme.

WRAP is part of Curated & Created – NTU’s Culture Programme. It offers students, staff and the public writing workshops and book groups, meets ups, masterclasses and talks from readers and authors. If there’s an opportunity to celebrate words and voices, WRAP will be part of it.

As this term’s WRAP Featured Writer, we’ll be welcoming Ashley to a number of events and activities across the term, including a Writing Masterclass for NTU students and staff in February and our Currently Reading Bookgroup in March.
