Fairtrade Fortnight is back! 21 February until 6 March 2022

As part of our ongoing commitment to being a Fairtrade University, NTU will once again be hosting events to raise awareness of Fairtrade and the importance of paying producers and suppliers fairly for their goods.

Check out the poster below for details of the activities happening throughout the week.

Fairtrade Bake Sale

Outside Chaucer School of Social Sciences Reception

Enjoy some tasty homemade treats, made with Fairtrade ingredients. Proceeds will be donated to Fairtrade charities.

* Allergens may be present in this area during these time slots. If you are severely allergic to nuts for example please bare this event in mind when planning your route around the building. If you are concerned about this and would like more information–please come to the SSS reception and ask any questions.

The Fairtrade Coffee Game

2:30-4pm

Many of us enjoy a cup of coffee, but do you know the various trades which take place on your coffee's journey from bean to cup? Join the NTU Green Academy and NTU Global Lounge to play a game where you will flex your negotiation skills and learn about the global coffee supply chain.  The game will be followed by a discussion on FairTrade. All students and staff welcome. This event is being run as part of FairTrade Fortnight and the NTU Sustainability Action Week.

Choose the World You Want Festival

From the 21st Feb-6th March 2022, the Fairtrade Foundation are hosting a range of online events and resources to further awareness of Fairtrade. Free for all, there will be several talks, workshops, films and more to promote understanding and behaviours towards ethical growing and purchasing.
