NTU's Campaign for COP26 2021

NTU Campaign for COP26

The Sustainability Team coordinated, and hosted along with various NTU departments, our  'Campaign for COP26'. A fortnight of events, workshops, actions and lectures focused on topics within the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).

The fortnight encouraged students, colleagues and friends to gain an understanding of the current climate crisis, how the crisis relates to other critical challenges in society and the need for climate action. Events also allowed us to explore how NTU is working to contribute to these challenges.

NTU's Campaign for COP26 was open to students, colleagues, academics and business partners to consider how we can create local solutions to these global challenges and develop our learning about sustainability and the climate crisis.

Events Hosted in NTU's Campaign for COP26

There were a host of events, workshops, actions and lectures for students, staff and the public to get involved in during NTU's Campaign for COP26. Please note these events have already taken place.

Sustainability Team at Sustainability Summit 2021

Coordinated by the Sustainability Team, Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and Nottingham Trent Students Union jointly hosted the NTU Sustainability Summit 2021 as part of NTU's Campaign for COP26.

The day included key-note speakers and themed workshops on topics such as the climate emergency, biodiversity and fast fashion. There was also a panel consisting of local organisation representatives who gave insight into their work towards sustainability across the city.

The conference enabled students to share ideas and discuss practical ways to effect change and take action at their universities and organisations. Attendees learned about COP26’s importance and initiatives in the local area and beyond, whilst focusing on the practical actions we can all take to 'think globally and act locally.'
