Outreach / CenSCE
NTU has a dedicated team that delivers more than 700 activities each year, placing 300 NTU undergraduates in local schools, working with over 30,000 pupils and matching more than 1,000 volunteers to a range of community projects.
What we do
Our aim is to provide early access to information surrounding university.
NTU’s outreach work helps children and young people discover what a university looks like, learn about aspects of student life and develop key vocabulary linked to university.
The sessions are supported by student ambassadors – current university students who will share their knowledge and experiences openly and honestly with your pupils.
The work we do makes university a natural choice for the most disadvantaged in society.
With your help, we can reach more people.
Scholarships for refugees
NTU currently offers two Article 26 Sanctuary Scholarships per academic year to new students from an asylum-seeking background.
These take the form of a full tuition fee waiver and a £3,000 bursary award towards course and travel costs for each year of their academic course.
We face an increasing demand for support for refugee and asylum-seeking students.
We need your support to expand this scholarship programme and meet this growing need.
Saturday Arts Club
The club is a national initiative funded in Nottingham as a partnership model between NTU and The Saturday Trust.
Through weekly workshops and experiences, participants develop the skills they need to work in the arts.
Club activities culminate with an exhibition of their work at the prestigious Somerset House.
A high proportion of young participants travel from across the East Midlands to NTU’s City Campus to attend the Saturday Arts Club and the cost of transport has proved to be a barrier to engagement.
With your support, we can prevent our young participants from falling at the first hurdle.
You can provide the necessary funding to ensure that the cost of travel does not hinder their ability to take part in a transformative project.
