    NTU Sport are offering financial assistance

    Sport and exercise are great for relieving stress. It improves your mood and focus, helping to boost your academic success.

    Research shows engaging with NTU sport programmes benefits your studies and your wellbeing.

    If you're eligible for an NTU bursary in 2022/23, you can take advantage of the following offers

    NTU Active memberships

    There's a 50% discount on NTU Active membership. You get access to amazing sports facilities, free fitness classes, and blast sessions. Take take advantage of this discounted offer please purchase your membership with us by 16 October 2022.

    • Annual memberships expire on 31 August 2023.
    • Monthly memberships will continue unless or until you cancel.

    How do I join?

    To take advantage of these discounts, please visit one of our reception points or email sport@ntu.ac.uk and we will add the discount to your account, once this has been applied, you can join here.

    If you've already purchased a membership please email ntusportrefund@ntu.ac.uk. A member of staff will process a 50% reimbursement in line with the membership you purchased.

    What if I've already purchased my membership at full price?

    Paying full price for your monthly direct debit? Email sport@ntu.ac.uk and a member of the team will adjust your payments going forward.

    NTU Moves

    NTU Moves is our brand-new app, available to all staff and students at NTU. It allows you to track your moves and claim rewards. NTU students and staff can download it for free and start earning points.

    Here's how to sign up:

    • download Moves+ today in the Apple Store or Google Play Store
    • register your account using your NTU student or staff email
    • follow the steps to create your profile and connect your fitness tracker
    • once synced with your tracker, your points will update automatically
    • collect your rewards.

    Sports Club Membership

    It can be tough adjusting to university life. It's normal to feel anxious about meeting new people. Sport and societies are a fantastic way to make the friends that will become your team both on and off the pitch.

    It doesn't matter if you've never tried it before. There's a club and a place for everyone here at NTU.

    How do I join?

    To take advantage of this discount, decide which NTU Sports Clubs you'd like to join. Then head to one of our receptions.

    What if I've already purchased my Sports Club membership at full price?

    If you've already purchased a membership please email ntusportrefund@ntu.ac.uk. A member of staff will process a 50% reimbursement in line with the membership you purchased.

    Discount: Southwell Leisure Centre (Brackenhurst students)

    Student memberships cost £19 a month with a minimum term of 8 months. However, NTU Sport will cover the cost of £9.50 per month, meaning you only pay £9.50 per month too.

    To access this financial help, email ntusportrefund@ntu.ac.uk with your membership confirmation. It'll prove you've joined Southwell Leisure Centre. We'll ask you to fill out a form with your payment details so we can reimburse you.

    NTU Sport will reimburse in two instalments as shown below.

    Discount: Mansfield based students

    Discount: Water Meadows Swimming and Fitness Complex, Oak Tree Leisure Centre and Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre (Mansfield students)

    Student memberships costs £22.50 a month. However, NTU Sport will cover the cost of £11.25 per month, meaning you only pay £11.25 per month.

    To access this financial help, email ntusportrefund@ntu.ac.uk with your membership confirmation. It'll prove you've joined Water Meadows Swimming and Fitness Complex, Oak Tree Leisure Centre or Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre. We'll ask you to fill out a form with your payment details so we can reimburse you.

    NTU Sport will reimburse in two instalments as shown below:

    *To receive the Term Two instalments you must prove you are still a member.

    Any student over 18 – Monthly direct debit £22.50 (this is on a non contracted basis and can be cancelled with 30 days notice). This includes full access to Water Meadows Swimming and Fitness Complex, Oak Tree Leisure Centre and Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre. Students can use the full gym facilities in each site, full swimming access, full access to all fitness classes plus usage of the sauna and steam room located at Oak Tree Leisure Centre.

    Sports Access Fund

    At NTU Sport we believe in access to sport for all students. We recognise that the cost of taking part in sport, be it club subscription, equipment, trips, can be a major barrier to participation.

    The Sport Access fund has been created to support those students who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate in their chosen sport or activity due to cost.

    Students can apply for up to £250 per academic year. We limit grants to one per student per academic year. Even if an application is successful, it might not be possible to award the full amount.

    What can you apply for:

    • Contribution towards subscription costs. This could be for a sports club or other NTU Sport programme, such as a Play for Fun membership
    • Contribution towards an NTU gym membership
    • Purchase of specialist equipment
    • Contribution towards club participation costs. For example; playing kit, mandatory training (required to participate in an activity), performance related costs
