Helen Merrin, winner of the Vice Chancellor's Outstanding Teacher Award for Established Teacher 2019

TILT is delighted to announce that this year's Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Award (VCTA) is now open for nominations.

VCTAs recognise and celebrate inspirational teaching at NTU. The criteria for which an award is judged has emerged from consultation with NTU staff, students and alumni. This means winning an award is a mark of recognition by the NTU community that awardees have demonstrated a high level of distinction in learning and teaching.

From the winners of VCTA, two colleagues are selected each year to receive:

  • Vice-Chancellor's Outstanding Teacher Award for an Early Career Teacher; or,
  • Vice-Chancellor's Outstanding Teacher Award for an Established Teacher.

The Outstanding Teacher awards recognise and celebrate colleagues who are distinguished early-career or established teacher practitioners.

To reflect the changes to teaching that are taking place, we are pleased to announce that VCTA 2020/21 incorporates new teaching observation categories to recognise excellence in online, and blended learning and teaching.
