Introduction:
This one-day in person short course is aimed at individuals who are directly involved in the handling, production or processing of food or drink items. Those whose work requires them to enter the workplace e.g. equipment maintenance engineers and delivery personnel, may also find this course relevant.
What you’ll study
On this course you will learn about:
- the importance of food hygiene
- associated food hazards
- good hygiene practice and controls based upon an awareness of food safety management systems.
The Food Standards Agency regards these topics as being important for understanding and maintaining good practice in the handling, processing and preparation of safe food.
How you’re taught
This short course is delivered over one day at Brackenhurst Campus, with the examination taking place at the end of the course.
Nottingham Trent University is an approved centre with The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).
How you’re assessed
The exam for this course is a multiple-choice examination, with 30 questions. A score of at least 20 out of 30 will be required to pass this exam.
The duration of the examination is 40 minutes.
