Introduction:
Blender 3D is a powerful free open-source 3D creation software which allows for 3D asset creation, animation, and rendering.
It can be used in any field that requires a digital 3D asset and is easily transferable to many other software’s such as TwinMotion, Unreal Engine, Unity, AR/VR, rendering etc.
On this course you will learn the basics of using Blender 3D Creation Suite for 3D environments, which introduces modern digital asset creation techniques and can be utilised across creative industries such as architecture, product design and fashion.
You will learn and explore various methods for 3D digital architectural models and creating simple environments, basic world effects, lighting, and materials.
-
This course is suitable for architects who are beginners to digital asset creation or those who have little knowledge of Blender and would like to explore how to use Blender for architectural concepts.
-
By the end of the course, you will have 3D Digital language skills and be able to create, edit and scale geometry in Blender.
-
You'll learn how to apply materials, textures, and texture paint to your models, understand how to UV unwrap and position textures for a realistic effect and set up an environment, lighting, and camera.
-
You'll leave having completed a project of your choice with final renders and a basic camera animation, and have an understanding of industry pipelines.
What you’ll study
The course is divided into six sections:
- Introduction to digital language
- Blender interface – modes, scenes, tabs and modifiers
- Using transformation tools and traversing the workspace
- Why knowing your asset size is important.
- Working between blender modes - object/edit mode/sculpt
- Creating and manipulating objects
- Archimesh add-on for Blender
- Fundamentals of import/exporting assets.
- Materials and texture nodes – creating and applying digital textures
- Texture painting – creating your own effects
- UV maps – positioning textures to make them more look realistic.
- Rendering - setting up the camera, lighting and environment
- Camera movement and walk through
- You will start to create your own assets and scenes.
You will continue to create your own assets and scenes with guidance.
You will finalise your scenes and create your own 2D render.
