How to apply

Discover the different study abroad options available at NTU and find out how to apply for your chosen programme.

We welcome applications from students who:

  • are nominated by one of our European partner universities to study through the Erasmus+ programme
  • are nominated by one of our International partner universities for a place on the exchange programme
  • are applying via the International Student Exchange Programme (ISEP)
  • will pay the NTU tuition fee themselves, applying either independently or through an agent.

Please check with staff at your home university if you are unsure whether your university has an international exchange or Erasmus+ agreement with NTU.

You should discuss your application fully with advisers at your home university before you apply. They will help you ensure you meet our requirements and will provide advice about your module selection and credit transfer.

You should also check you meet our language requirements, have all of the necessary supporting documents, and research your module choices before you complete your application.

The application process

Applications for Erasmus+ and international exchange and ISEP:

  1. Nomination sent to us by your home university or ISEP
  2. You will receive an email with an application form and further application guidance
  3. You submit your application form and required supporting documents, including your module choices
  4. If successful, confirmation of acceptance is sent by email with advice about applying for accommodation, visas, etc.

Applications as a fee-paying student:

  1. Contact us by email with the following details: You full name, home university, course, year, which subject area you are interested in, when you would like to begin your studies at NTU and duration of your stay.
  2. You will receive an email with an application form and further application guidance
  3. You submit your application form and required supporting documents, including your module choices
  4. If successful, confirmation of acceptance is sent by email with advice about applying for accommodation, visas, etc.

Application deadlines and semester dates

Nomination deadlines

  • Semester 1 and full year: 30 April
  • Semester 2: 30 October

Application deadlines

  • Semester 1 and full year: 31 May
  • Semester 2: 15 November

The structure of the academic year

The academic year runs from September to June and is divided into three terms or two semesters, depending on your choice of study:

Year-long exchange

  • Welcome Week: 21 September to 28 September 2018
  • Term One: Monday 1 October to Friday 14 December 2018
  • Term Two: Monday 14 January to Friday 5 April 2019
  • Term Three: Wednesday 24 April to Friday 7 June 2019

Semester exchange

  • Semester one: September to end of January
  • Semester two: end of January to June
