Global Summer School
Our Global Summer School 2019 will take place from 8 July – 2 August 2019. Please return to this page in December to see our new timetable of courses and to apply for a place.
Our Global Summer School programme is a great chance for you to:
- combine courses to develop your own programme of study
- earn credits you might be able to apply to your studies back home
- improve your grades and increase your knowledge in your subject, or learn something new
- be taught by expert, experienced teaching staff
- immerse yourself in UK culture and make friends with international students from around the world
- enjoy summer in a great student city
- experience studying at our University and explore opportunities for future academic studies
Our international summer school covers a wide range of subjects.
The courses are split into blocks, so you can create a programme that suits you. Choose 1 course from any of the blocks, or combine 2 courses from blocks 1 and 2 to create a 4-week programme. You're welcome to combine courses across different subject areas.
A typical 2-week course gives you 5 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits which you may be able to use towards your degree at home.
You'll receive a transcript and a certificate after satisfactorily completing your course(s).
The courses are aimed at international and UK-based university students who have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies.
Take a look at the courses that we ran in 2018. Courses for 2019 will be available in December.

We want all our international students and UK-based students to have a great experience, so you'll be supported by our friendly student buddies who'll get in touch with you before you arrive.
They'll welcome you at your induction, take on you on a campus tour, show you best places in Nottingham to shop, eat, drink and visit and accompany you on all social activities. They may even be studying with you in your classes.
Nottingham is a small but charming city. It is very easy to get around and find good places to eat or shop. It also has a lot of pubs and nightclubs to go out at night. Overall, I really enjoyed spending these few weeks in the city.
