Global Summer School at NTU has a busy social programme with chances to explore Nottingham, go on trips and learn new skills.

Explore some of the UK’s most famous cities such as Oxford, York and Liverpool, learn new skills such as bowling and drumming and most of all, have fun and make new friends.

What's included?

Our social programme may include:

  • welcome sessions with student buddies, including campus tours – take in the campus and find out more about the city, your course and the University;
  • UK city day trips – explore major cities and historical locations like York and Oxford and embrace the UK culture;
  • bowling with your student buddies – get to know your fellow students and see who can get the most strikes;
  • drumming workshops – whether you’ve got that musical flare or you’re a musical novice this workshop is a great way to find your rhythm;
  • games afternoons – a great opportunity to socialise and relax whilst playing games with other summer school students;
  • English Conversation Cafes – join other students to improve your English in a relaxed and informal environment;
  • Robin Hood tour of Nottingham – join Nottingham’s legendary outlaw, Robin Hood, for a tour of the city and find out more about it’s fascinating history;
  • end of course exhibition and celebration – time to reflect, rejoice and remember the events that have happened this week. Take the chance to celebrate with your classmates and new friends!

Explore Nottingham

 

Nottingham is a fantastic city to explore and embrace. With a long and interesting history you can visit key sites such as Nottingham Castle or Nottingham caves. If you want to explore further afield, Nottinghamshire has lots of historic houses and estates for you to investigate.

Take time to relax and socialise in one of Nottingham’s many cafes, restaurants and bars with offerings from around the world. And with one of the lowest cost of livings in the UK there’s a lot of affordable food and drink.

Nottingham's shopping boasts big brands alongside small boutiques. You can also visit the Paul Smith fashion shop, a designer originally from Nottingham who is now world renowned.

Nottingham is surrounded by stunning countryside. Take a walk down to the River Trent, visit a nature reserve or spend the day at Wollaton Hall and Deer Park.
