We understand that the International Baccalaureate Diploma is a rigorous programme which involves studying a range of subjects to significant depth.

We have a long history of accepting IB Diploma graduates to our courses. This has helped us to develop requirements which offer you the best possible opportunity to access and succeed in your studies.

Your tariff points

If you’re studying the full IB Diploma, you will need an overall pass, including specific grades in your Higher Level Subjects, depending on the UCAS tariff point requirement for your chosen course.

128Overall Pass in the IB Diploma, including at least 16 points from three Higher Level Subjects

Where a specific subject grade is required at A Level, the following is required in the IB:

  • Grade A = 6 at Higher Level in relevant subject
  • Grade B = 5 at Higher Level in relevant subject
  • Grade C = 4 at Higher Level in relevant subject
  • Grade D = 3 at Higher Level in relevant subject

Students who do not complete the IB Diploma may be accepted on the basis of:

  • Two Standard Level and two Higher Level Certificates or
  • Three Higher Level Certificates
