Accommodation Guarantee

If you’re applying for an undergraduate degree at NTU, we will guarantee you a room in University-allocated accommodation for your first year provided that you:

1) firmly accept your offer to study with us
2) apply for your accommodation  by midnight on Friday 11 June 2021 (UK students) or midnight on Friday 30 July 2021 for EU/International students
3) accept the terms and conditions of your accommodation tenancy, and pay a £200 refundable* deposit.

What does University-allocated accommodation mean?

This accommodation includes halls of residence that are owned by the University, halls of residence run by our partner providers or private companies, and accredited shared housing.

When do accommodation bookings open?

Our online accommodation booking system opens on 3 March 2021. If you are a new student who has firmly accepted your offer to study with NTU, you can apply for accommodation from this date.

However, if you are still deciding on your firm choice, don’t panic. You are guaranteed an offer of University-allocated accommodation as long as you accept your offer by the UCAS deadline and apply for accommodation by Friday 11 June.

Will I be guaranteed my first choice of accommodation?

As long as you meet the terms of our guarantee, you are guaranteed an offer of University-allocated accommodation, but this may not be your first choice. Some of our more popular residences get booked up quickly so we would recommend having a few options in mind when you are ready to make your application.

What is the deposit for, and will I get this back?

The £200 deposit is used to secure your booking and will be refunded at the end of your tenancy agreement provided that there are no damages or outstanding rent.

If I cancel my accommodation will I get my deposit back?

If you don’t meet the conditions of your offer at NTU, you are no longer attending the University or you need to cancel your accommodation Licence Agreement, you can request this without being liable for the payment of rent. You will need to contact us in writing 21 days before your contract starts to request this cancellation.

Once we confirm that we have cancelled your accommodation prior to the start of your tenancy, your deposit will be refunded.

Any requests to cancel that are received less than 21 days before the start of your tenancy will be assessed on a case by case basis.
