The Hive: helping local people start-up in business
The Hive is NTU's specialist advice unit that exists to help staff, students and members of the local public get started in business. If you have an idea for your business and want to get started, The Hive can help with:
- mentoring
- advice and guidance
- training and events
- providing information on funding opportunities
- helping you find office space
- networking with others through The Entrepreneurs Club.

Support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs)
SMEs often have unique challenges and barriers to growth. Our staff have extensive experience of helping SMEs, so talk to us about how we can help you with:

Legal advice
Through NLS Legal, members of the public and business leaders can seek free advice and guidance from our law students. Working under the supervision of qualified solicitors, our law students will give you informed legal advice on issues such as:
- employment rights
- business law
- housing, property and environmental law
- debt and welfare rights
- tribunal and court representation.

Professional spaces and facilities for hire
As a university, many of our facilities, equipment and spaces are second to none. Our spaces are designed to inspire and facilitate new thinking and new ideas. There are a range of facilities and spaces available for members of the public and local businesses to hire including:
