There's something rousing about a great brass band. And it could be just the experience you're looking for.
What can I expect?
The NTU Brass Band started small. It began in 2013 as a quintet, but has bloomed into a thriving ensemble that's played around the UK; including winning awards at the world's only university brass band competition – Unibrass. Our brass band is led by NTU's brass tutor and renowned trombonist Peter Lacy.

Performances and tours
Our Brass Band regularly competes, and wins accolades, at Unibrass – the University Brass Band Championship of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The band also performs at seasonal NTU events, including the Christmas Spectacular and Summer Celebration, and joins the Chamber Choir for a popular public Christmas concert at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall.
Members have had the opportunity to travel and perform abroad, touring recently to Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany.
Due to COVID-19 we've suspended our concert season, but we hope there will be opportunities for the Brass Band to perform in the new year. At present we are unable to plan international trips, but we hope to resume these once it is safe to do so.
