As one of the smaller societies at NTU, it really feels like hanging out with your friends, having fun. We are an inclusive society, where all genders are welcome! Thanks to our amazing coach, classes are always exciting, as we are constantly learning new skills and choreography.
We are a relatively small but inclusive Club which really makes our time together fun and quirky with more chances of making friends and gives us more space for expressing ourselves.
We are taught by talented, professional teachers who wholeheartedly dedicate their time and energy to every member so that everyone are allowed to learn and develop the skill at a comfortable pace.
Overall, the Belly Dance Club is an exciting place where we learn a beautiful dance form and engage in unforgettable social events.
I'm a third year Media and Film student at NTU and this is my second year in the Belly Dance society. When I first joined, I hoped for it to be a safe and fun place where I'd be able to learn and develop my Belly dancing skills and make new friends by participating in the various social events. That is exactly how my year went and I hope to maintain the spark throughout this upcoming year as well.
I think an inclusive environment where everybody is appreciative and accepting is extremely important to build positive energy and team spirit and so one of our main goals this year will be to make sure we create a comfortable space for all our members to express their quirks unapologetically.
My committee members and I are extremely excited to welcome our new members this year and we can't wait to get to know them!
Our instructor is Tatiana Woolley. She is an experienced middle Eastern dancer with skills in several types of dance. Alongside being a professional instructor, she also owns and teaches at ABC Dance School, Nottingham.
