Role
Michelle is a Commercial Services Manager in the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences, leading on commercial strategy for the School with responsibility for a mixed portfolio of services, aimed at both industry and members of the public. These include:
- Brackenhurst Short Courses
- ARES Global Summer School Courses
- Academic Services, such as scientific testing, canine behaviour consultation service and crop trials
- Consultancy services
- Hire of scientific facilities
She is also a member of the School Executive Team.
Career overview
Prior to joining NTU Michelle successfully project managed a number of high profile, multi-partner EU-funded projects in the East Midlands such as Metro Biodiversity Phase 1, FEAST, Future Factory, Enterprise Inc and PiKt. These had a combined value of over £25 million and focused on increasing economic development or sustainability within the East Midlands.
She has a wealth of experience in supporting SMEs and students. For 4 years she project managed the East Midlands Incubation Network, on behalf of a number of universities in the East Midlands.
Previous roles have been within private, public and third sectors, giving her a great all round perspective of different working cultures.
