Career overview

After working as the Workshop manager at Derby Playhouse till 2007 I then went on to be a freelance Scenic Carpenter working on film and television productions, I came to NTU as a HPL for set construction, but eventually ended up as the Senior Technician in Waverley workshop. Whilst doing that I looked into bringing modern technology and production methods into a theatre workshop environment and became very specialised in 3D printing and laser cutting, expanding it from 1 machine till eventually a whole department in 2017, which I now run.

Right from an early 20`s I have been involved with work in conference production, staging of exhibitions, show logistics and production and staging of music events. I have worked in many countries and many events.

External activity

Until recently I held a full Pyrotechnics license and have worked all over Europe

On many large Firework displays for all sorts of events.

I also build model boats and to race and have a keen interest in engineering and motorcycling.
