Role
Dr Emanuela Cervato is a Senior Lecturer. She is subject leader for Italian and Year Abroad Coordinator for Modern Languages. As well as language, she teaches modules on Italian Culture, Society and Politics, Interpreting and Translation and Business Italian.
Research areas
Dr Cervato is currently writing a monograph on the systematic character of Giacomo Leopardi’s Zibaldone di pensieri.

- Italian literature and philosophy
- Fragmentary writing
- 18th Century Venice (culture and society)
- Italian theatre (Carlo Goldoni and Luigi Pirandello in particular)
- Interpreting (community interpreting) and Translation
