Annie mentors students studying at undergraduate level in NBS, helping them to develop their self-awareness, and their academic and professional skills; and to reflect upon their (formal and informal) learning in order to get the most from their university experience, and to engage fully in wider society.
She is also a placement tutor for students on their year in industry, where their experiential learning is encouraged through the use of critical reflection on their own development, and on the relationship between theory and practice.
Annie is a Fellow of the HEA and is highly focussed on the importance of equality and inclusion, and of good practice in teaching and learning.
Annie has 13 years’ prior experience teaching academic skills to undergraduates and postgraduates.
She is experienced in delivering staff development opportunities around learning and teaching particularly in relation to inclusiveness and ‘hard to reach’ groups. She has also assessed HEA Fellowship claims.
Additionally, Annie is a qualified and experienced Youth and Community Development worker.
