Lecturer in Human Resource Management
Graham teaches on a range of Post Graduate programmes in the HR department, particularly within the MSc in Human Resource Management, plus also a Post Graduate module on Leading Project Teams.
Prior to entering academia, Graham acquired extensive experience as a strategic and senior people manager within high profile global private sector organisations (particularly within aerospace and defence) and also within the international development sector, with a strong focus on humanitarian aid. He has led complex HR and OD programmes which have impacted staff in Europe, and fragile states across East and West Africa. Graham’s projects have covered the full spectrum of HR activities including organisational change and HR strategy development, policy formation, resourcing, reward, restructuring, employee engagement and performance management.
Graham has a particular interest in developing and improving the relationship between academic and operational HR, and ensuring that HR professionals have the practical skills and capabilities to operate successfully as Business Partners within their organisations.
Graham is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and active member of the CIPD Midlands Area Partnership, and contributes regularly to CIPD programmes and conferences at regional and national level.
