Dr Hassan Amar is a Senior Lecturer in Project Management in the Department of Management, Nottingham Business School. Hassan is involved in various teaching, supervision and research activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Nottingham Trent University.
Hassan is currently working closely with MSc Project Management course and International Business team in delivering the programs comprehensively and enhancing students’ experience. Hassan’s main interests in teaching are in the field of Business and Management: Operations, Supply chain and Project management.
Hassan holds Doctor of Philosophy and MSc in Project management Degrees from University of Bedfordshire, UK. He is an Electrical engineer by profession and has worked for Electronic manufacturing industry in the past overseas mainly in the project manager role. Hassan has reasonable amount of experience in leading and teaching learning activities at various UK Higher Education Institutes.
Prior to NTU, Hassan worked at Coventry University as a Course Director for Study abroad programme and Associate Course Director for BA Business Management. He also worked with the Internationalisation team and Academic Progression Unit (APU) closely on progression agreements with partners. Hassan has also worked at University of Bedfordshire and London School of Commerce mainly in the roles of Visiting Lecturer and Consultant which contributes to his overall portfolio.
Hassan’s main interests are in the field of Operations, Supply Chain and Project Management, and Risk Management specifically. His main contributions currently are in the field of Virtual and Agile project development, Risk and Uncertainty and Supply Chain management. He is actively working in the area to produce quality outputs, improving the conventions and determining modern practices to meeting the desired organisational goals and stakeholders’ expectations.
Hassan is interested in supervising the PhD students in the following areas:
- Risk and Uncertainty Management
- Project Management Knowledge areas and its implications
- Operations and Supply Chain Management
- Agile Project Management ; Scrum methodology
- Communication and Information Management
Hassan has served as reviewer multiple times for various conferences which includes British Academy of Management, EUROMA and Management International Conference. He also served as External Examiner for University of Essex (Online) and contributed to leading and enhancing the quality and standards of the UG Business Management program modules.
