Ines is currently investigating the influence of relationships on dyadic gift giving within the framework of attachment theory. The project integrates traditional social exchange theories with evolutionary psychology and consumer decision making.

Ines is also interested in conspicuous consumption and evolutionary marketing, which applies the theory of evolution to consumer contexts such as gift-giving. Ines has conducted qualitative and quantitative research using questionnaires, interviews, diaries, focus groups and experimental design.
