Role

Louise is a Senior Lecturer in the Marketing Department at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University. She has taught across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses but now focuses on her areas of expertise and manages the final year undergraduate module Strategic Marketing and Brand Management and the MSc module Branding and Corporate Reputation Management.  Louise, who is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) successfully completed her Doctorate of Education (EdD) in November 2014 and has presented at a number of national and international conferences. Louise also supervises a number of doctorate students studying diverse contexts and topics including organisational behaviour, citizenship, management and leadership, and corporate branding and corporate reputation both in organisations and countries.  Louise is also able to bring much of the knowledge gained in the doctorate to the undergraduate branding modules.

Career overview

Before joining Nottingham Business School, Louise was Innovation & Enterprise Manager at the University of Derby, UK where she liaised and built relationships with existing key clients and new clients.  This also included offering consultancy advice and support in developing various training courses and sector specific marketing initiatives.  She also had responsibility for managing a number of research and evaluation projects.

Before this Louise worked as Marketing Manager for an international civil engineering consultancy where she focused on enhancing the company’s corporate brand through researching new markets, at businesses based in the UK and Europe, developing marketing plans and managing customer-care initiatives and procedures.  Louise also supported the company’s branding initiatives through the coordination and development of internal marketing programmes and a number of external marketing campaigns.

Research areas

Since completion of her doctorate Louise recently conducted a research study at the University of Limerick, Ireland, to build on her knowledge of corporate branding, particularly in a different context (the School of Nursing).  Data was collected both quantitatively and qualitatively but the analysis is yet to be undertaken.

Louise is currently working on a paper for the journal Higher Education title: Corporate branding in Higher Education: a proposed new model
