Role

Dr. Su Beesley is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship. Her role at Nottingham Business School (NBS) involves teaching, mentoring Master students in Entrepreneurship and research. Su teaches at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level within NBS and is one of the staff members responsible for leading and developing the entrepreneurship course at the Business School. Su supervises students whose studies focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy and change, motivation and the organisational behaviour of workplaces. Su has an eclectic research profile, having begun her research in Organisational Behaviour, turned to online marking, teaching and feedback and now establishing herself in the arena of Entrepreneurship with a special focus on female entrepreneurs within the MENA countries as well as within: micro-entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, networking, strategic management, entrepreneurship and behavioural economics amongst other topics.

Career overview

Su completed her PhD in Organisational Behaviour, with a focus on the impact of new technology in the workplace, at the University of Nottingham. Her recent work has seen her develop a book chapter and research papers on female entrepreneurship specifically within the MENA countries and with a focus on motivation and value-based approaches. Su is currently a reviewer for the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (JSEB) and has attended government think tank meetings both in London and in the Middle East to advise on the opportunities for women in business.
