Thabani Maposa is a teaching staff in Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Trent University in the Business School.
Career overview
Prior to being a lecturer at NTU, Thabani has worked in both industry and practice and is a qualified accountant (ACCA) with a strong understanding of fintech, innovation, enterprise, and entrepreneurship. He has a good grasp of international fiscal and monetary policies and a passion for small and medium enterprises and their ongoing contribution to emerging economies. Additionally, he has an in-depth knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and in-depth knowledge of several jurisdictions` finance frameworks including Company Acts, Stock Exchange Regulations and climate-related Financial Disclosures.
Research areas
Thabani is currently a research fellow researching the Fourth Industrial Revolution's effect on the accounting profession in higher education with the aim of coming up with a conceptual framework embedded in Learning Agility. The aim being adding and providing a transformative paper to guide future of academia in turn providing a backdrop for the future of work.
External activity
Thabani has a passion for volunteer work with vulnerable people in society and animal conservation in sub-Saharan Africa.
