Jackie Scruton teaches across a range of undergraduate programmes at Nottingham Institute of Education. Jackie is module leader for Inclusion Two on the BA (Hons) Primary Programme. She also is a member of the Anglesey team. Additionally Jackie is a module leader for two modules on the BA (Hons) in Education Studies programme - behaviour management and inclusion. This role includes supervising students through their final research projects. Jackie also teaches on the BA in Childhood Studies, modules include different childhoods and multidisciplinary services.
Jackie is a member of the Schools Social Change Justice and Equality research group.
Jackie has particular experience within the field of Inclusion and Special Educational Needs, in particular encouraging and supporting students to develop an inclusive approach and ethos to their work. She has a strong interest in supporting students to develop their skills and knowledge with regard to communication with children, especially those with communication difficulties and who have an identified Special Educational Need. This interest has led her to train as a Makaton trainer.
Jackie is a specialist member of the Special Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST)
