Senior Lecturer in Law.
Stephanie joined us in 2006 to set up and run Nottingham Law School’s Pro Bono Legal Advice Clinic, supervising post graduate students providing free legal advice to the local community. Together with Nick Johnson, Stephanie also developed a pro bono project with the Free Representation Unit to give students the opportunity to undertake employment tribunal representation in Nottingham.
Stephanie now leads a range of Clinical Legal Education Modules, including ‘Law in Practice’ on the LLB and GDL courses which enables students to achieve academic credit using their practical experience (gained from law-related activities undertaken during placements in our in-house Legal Advice Centre and/or approved external organisations). Stephanie also teaches Employment Law and Public Law to our undergraduates.
Member of the Employment Lawyers Association
Stephanie qualified in 2001 and practised as an employment law solicitor at Browne Jacobson LLP for five years before joining the Law School. She was involved in a range of contentious matters (defending various employment tribunal claims) and non-contentious matters (such as drafting employment contracts, staff handbooks and policies), and providing training for a number of large organisations and high profile clients (from both the private and public sector).
