Dr Seetohul is a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer. He is Module Leader of 'Drugs of Abuse' and 'Advanced Chemical Analysis' and Year Tutor (Second year Forensic).
Dr Seetohul teaches on the following modules:

He is the Royal Society of Chemistry contact for Nottingham Trent University and is jointly responsible for the Chemistry and Forensic Science Colloquium series at NTU.
Dr Seetohul started his career after graduating with BSc Chemistry in 2000. Following graduation he worked at Mauritius Chemical and Fertilizer Industries Ltd until he undertook an MSc in Analytical Chemistry and then pursuing a PhD investigating Novel Applications of Optical Analytical Techniques at Teesside University. He was awarded his PhD in 2009. During his time at Teesside University Dr Seetohul worked as a Project Officer on EU funded projects managing analytical chemistry support to qualifying SMEs in North East England.
In 2009 he was appointed as a Research Associate at the University of Teesside. In 2010 he became a Lecturer in Forensic Toxicology / Forensic Toxicologist at the University of Dundee. As part of his remit as a Forensic Toxicologist he had primary responsibility for the management of the toxicology laboratory, including technical staff that provided analysis of various post-mortem samples for the Central, Tayside and Fife regions of Scotland under contract from the Scottish Crown Office for unexplained death cases. During his time he researched post-mortem stability of drugs, post-mortem drug redistribution and novel psychoactive substances. Dr Seetohul was appointed as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry at Nottingham Trent University in July 2013.
Research interests include:
- Characterisation and stability of Novel Psychoactive Substance (NPS) (AKA Legal Highs). Legal Highs are they legal?
- Application of liquid phase broadband cavity enhanced absorption spectroscopy (BBCEAS) to analytical, biological and bio analytical samples.
- Post-mortem redistribution.
- Application of novel optical analytical techniques to forensic.
