Dr Bates is a lecturer in multimedia applications and serious games.
Research areas
Dr Bates is a member of the Interactive Systems Research Group (ISRG). His research interests include the positioning of games-based learning applications within non-formal educational contexts.
Opportunities to carry out postgraduate research towards an MPhil/PhD exist and further information may be obtained from the NTU Graduate School.
