Role

The Local and Economic Engagement Team supports the University’s strategic partnerships with economic development agencies and local authorities. As Team Administrator, Alison provides administrative and PA support to the Head of Local and Economic Engagement, and supports other team members. This includes: desk research; preparing reports and presentations; supporting the process of designing, writing and submitting funding proposals; liaising with our delivery partners; collating information for funding applications and maintaining a library of funding proposals; supporting business events; assisting with project administration; assisting with the process of handling business enquiries; ensuring project records are compliant with funder’s requirements.

Career overview

Prior to NTU, Alison worked for several small medical appliance distribution businesses. The last role was a General Manager and prior to that as a Compliance Officer. Other roles undertaken include a Team Leader for an NVQ and apprenticeship provider; seven years at Siemens Energy Service as Training and Quality Manager (off-shoring operational work to India), Operations Manager and a Team Supervisor role.
