Jade Martyn joined the University in April 2017 as Commercial Services Manager within the Knowledge Exchange (KE) department.

KE focuses on:

  • Developing and enhancing partnerships with employers (large and small businesses, government, local authority, not-for-profit) to facilitate engagement with the breadth of the University’s capability, from graduate talent through to research.
  • Supporting local economic engagement and partnership with key stakeholders in Nottingham, D2N2 and the wider Midlands.
  • Developing commercial services for external organisations, building on the University’s academic expertise and facilities.

Jade’s role at the University is to lead the development and implementation of a new University wide strategy for Commercial Services, which will increase the volume, and value of commercial services activity in areas such as academic-led Consultancy, Continuing Professional Development and Executive Education and the use of specialist equipment and facilities.

Career overview

Prior to joining the University, Jade was the product owner of Experian’s Debt Management suite of products in EMEA, regularly visiting strategic clients internationally, and responsible for protecting annual revenue of $15m. Noteworthy clients included ABN AMRO, ING, Santander, BMW and Vodacom. Another element of the role involved creating and launching new and compelling value propositions that were aligned to the needs of the market and Experian’s organisational goals.

Prior to this, Jade developed the social media function for CreditExpert creating social media specific strategies and campaigns to best engage with customers and the wider audience, nurturing a social community and developing the brand’s presence and tone of voice via social media channels.
