Jason Rhodes is the Head of Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Services, responsible for 6 Strategic Partnership Managers and the Commercial Services Manager, within the Partnerships, Local Engagement and Commercial Services (PLECS) Directorate.
PLECS was formed in early 2017 as a new professional services department at the University, focusing on:
- Developing and enhancing partnerships with employers (business, government, not-for-profit) to facilitate engagement with the breadth of the University’s capability, from graduate talent through to research.
- Supporting local economic engagement and partnership with key stakeholders in Nottingham, D2N2 and the wider Midlands.
- Development of commercial services for external organisations, building on the University’s academic expertise and facilities.
Jason joined NTU in September 2010 bringing his Commercial learning solutions experience, gained from a number of roles working in Corporate learning organisations, to manage and plan the development of NTUs strategic partnership ambitions.
Between 2001 and 2010 Jason headed the national and international business development functions for a number of large e-learning organisations, creating senior level partnerships with major blue-chip firms for multi-phased, e-learning workforce solutions, securing multi-million pound contracts across the banking, finance and service based sectors.
More recently he has moved from heading up the commercial teams in the College of Science and Technology at NTU, where he developed the commercial teams from the ground up and led them to successfully developing commercial offers and key partnership acquisitions in Science and Technology.
