Cathryn is a Part Time Senior Lecturer in Social Work. She has an interest in developing opportunities for social work students to complete practice learning opportunities in schools.

Career overview

Cathryn worked as a children and families social worker in Nottinghamshire for 9 years, from 1990 to 1999.

She was seconded to manage an action research project for the Area Child Protection Committee / Health Action Zone in 1999 until 2001 when she returned to Nottinghamshire County Council.

From 2002 to 2010 Cathryn moved into training and development roles initially with Nottinghamshire County Council until she moved into her first academic role at the University of Lincoln in 2006.

Cathryn joined Cafcass in 2010 and was employed there as a Family Court Advisor / Children’s Guardian until she moved to Nottingham Trent University in September 2017.
