Wellbeing activities on campus

Join in with the wellbeing activities happening across our campuses, where you can make new friends, unleash your creativity, or just take some time to relax.

Mindfulness Wednesdays

The session can help to clear your head and energise you. Vicky will guide you through the session which we guarantee will help you feel better. We run the session in person and on Microsoft Teams.

To book for the in-person option, please call the City Campus NTU Sport reception on 0115 848 3219. You can also join in on Microsoft Teams.

Rock painting

Our Student Mental Health Champions run regular rock painting sessions. They take place termly across all campuses. The sessions were set up by Kerry Luff, one of our Student Mental Health Champions. They help to spread a bit of positivity with the rocks around campus.

The sessions are a great way to relax, meet new people and try something new. First, everyone will have the chance to get creative and paint some rocks. We'll then lead you on a walk around campus, and encourage you to leave your rocks for others to see. It'll really brighten their day.

Follow NTU Student Services on Instagram to find out when and where the next session will be.

Creative wellbeing sessions

There's a lot of research that suggests creativity is beneficial for our mental health. Healthy NTU are working with the Nottingham School of Art and Design to run creative sessions that are great for your wellbeing.

These sessions offer you the chance to try something new, meet new people, and take some time to relax. The sessions are open to all students — you don't need to have an artistic background.

Regular sessions will include:

  • life drawing with Laura Quick. This is a virtual life-drawing session on Microsoft Teams. Laura will guide you through a series of drawing exercises. You'll use photographs of life models to work from.
  • still-life drawing with Laura Quick. An in-person session. Laura will use various still-life sets for you to draw. We'll provide all materials.
  • zine-making and craft workshops with Matt Gill. You'll learn how to make your own zine. You'll also try out other craft activities, such as badge-making. We'll provide all materials.
