Product Design Alumni represent NTU at Global showcase

Published: 24/11/2020

Two NTU Product Design graduates, were selected to showcase their work at the Global Grad Show, an event which showcases graduate work from the world’s leading design and technology schools as part of Dubai Design Week.

The work at this year’s show was categorised into one of five categories: living with illness and disability, coping in a complex world, saving and protecting vulnerable lives, cleaning a waste-filled planet and sustaining the urban experience.

Alessia Oliveri produced a toy that supports emotional development and education in medical conditions through play. ‘Hero Helper Dex’, an adorable plush animal, teaches children with type 1 diabetes to understand and manage life with the condition in a friendly and accessible way.

Belinda Francis’ project ‘Ordon’ is a flat packed, portable air purifying device designed for polluted regions of Mongolia where children are over-exposed to air pollution and poor-quality air. The Ordon can be transported and built easily to suit the needs of the nomadic communities.

You can view all of this year’s 100 entries from graduates across the world on the Global Grad Show website. You can also follow Alessia and Belinda on Instagram to discover more of their amazing work.
