Complete the free Sustainability in Practice certificate

Are you interested in how sustainability relates to your course at NTU? There's not long left to complete the Sustainability in Practice (SiP) certificate this academic year.

Free to all NTU students, SiP is a short online module which introduces you to sustainability fundamentals such as the climate and ecological emergency, the UN Sustainable Development Goals and systems thinking.
- The module is automatically available to you in NOW.
- You can choose to explore sustainability from three themes: clothing, energy or food.
- Takes 4-6 hours to complete.
- You'll receive an official digital copy of the SiP certificate to show employers.
- The certificate is recognised on your undergraduate Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).
- The module is part of the Employability Sustainability Award Level Bronze.
- Closes on Monday 15 May.
Throughout the module you will learn the following:
Session one will explore your own personal connections with sustainability, including taking a deep dive into your values.
Session two offers a discipline-specific focus on sustainability - whether you study Astrophysics, Zoology, or anything in between, there will be something for you. You also will discover the planetary boundaries of Earth.
Session three will investigate the interconnections between disciplines through systems thinking including indigenous wisdoms, inclusivity, our own mindsets, long-term thinking and product life cycles.
Session four offers innovative forefront solutions to the challenges we face such as doughnut economics, leadership, interconnectedness and a world map of solutions.
