Student artwork brightens Dryden study space

Since the start of the academic year, hundreds of students have taken a break from their studies to paint tiles at one of NTU Arts’ free creative workshops. Now the finished artworks are on display at City Campus in the Dryden building.

The tiles were decorated using acrylic paint and mounted onto frames which are now on show on the ground floor of Dryden, home to the Enterprise Centre.

This is one of a series of NTU Arts projects designed to celebrate creativity on campus, including a mural which was recently painted at Clifton Campus by acclaimed artist, Osheen Siva.

Speaking about the tile painting workshops and having their work displayed on campus, student Bobbi Belsey commented:

The acrylic tile painting hanging in Dryden is a testament to the beauty and diversity of creative expression. I’m amazed at the contrast of the unique paintings but even more so at how they all fit together perfectly.

Despite never painting before, I loved it; these workshops rekindled a creative spark I thought I'd lost years ago. It also provided me with a relaxing space to socialise with many new people, all with different backgrounds and all from a variety of courses.

The remaining tiles are due to go on display across campus in the coming weeks so follow NTU Arts on Instagram for all the latest updates.
