Key moments and highlights from Notts Varsity 2025

Term three of the 24/25 academic year saw the conclusion of the Varsity series for 2025. Here’s a look back at some of the best moments from a great series for both athletes and supporters alike.

The series kicked off with a bang back in February with NTU taking the win in the Ice Hockey in front of a packed-out Motorpoint Arena.

Week one of fixtures soon followed, with the highlight being NTU taking the win in the Men’s Basketball held at UoN’s David Ross Sports Village.

Week two took place at the start of Term Three. The glorious weather set the scene for an amazing week of sport, in which we saw the football return to Meadow Lane stadium, the home of Notts County Football Club.

While UoN took the win in the series 10-3 overall, the Men’s Cricket team ensured the series ended on a positive note for NTU, winning the final game in the series.

Overall, Notts Varsity 2025 was a memorable celebration of sportsmanship and dedication. The series showcased the community that sport brings to university life, creating lasting memories for both athletes and supporters.
