Find out about our team of students who have recently returned from studying, working, and volunteering abroad.

Being a new student at a new university in a new country can be daunting. Our Student Exchange Buddies have first-hand experience of what it's like. They're on hand to offer advice and support if you're thinking about doing:

  • an overseas exchange
  • a traineeship
  • a work placement.

They can tell you about:

  • how to prepare for your time overseas
  • what to take with you
  • the best ways to make friends and network
  • how to combat homesickness.

We have over 300 partner universities. You can travel to travel to popular European and international destinations and other great locations. Use your University email to join the Virtual Global Lounge in Microsoft Teams. You can then access our Study Abroad channel for lots of useful information.

Become a student buddy

You can become a student buddy and give back to our community. You need to have studied or worked abroad. You'll be offering support and advice to those about to go away and to incoming exchange students too.

This is a voluntary position in which you can use your experience and skills from your time abroad. It's also a great addition to your CV and will appear on your Diploma Supplement.
