Become a student buddy

You can become a student buddy and give back to our community. You need to have studied or worked abroad. You'll be offering support and advice to those about to go away and to incoming exchange students too.

This is a voluntary position in which you can use your experience and skills from your time abroad. It's also a great addition to your CV and will appear on your Diploma Supplement. Applications will open in Easter 2021.

Global Summer School buddies

This year our Global Summer School will be virtual – we are offering 7 innovative and interactive week-long courses for both NTU and International students.

We are looking for student buddies who can help us to welcome our International students and overcome the challenge of how to ensure that they feel connected to NTU and Nottingham whilst being in another country. We envisage that this might be via welcome emails, videos, social activities such as games afternoons, cook-a-longs, craft sessions, quizzes etc. all of which you will help to design and run via the Virtual Global Lounge.

The summer school will run from 5 – 9 July and this is when the main activities will take place, however, we also require our buddies to begin emailing students 1 or 2 weeks before to create relationships with them beforehand. This will, we hope, make them more likely to feel comfortable with you, with each other and therefore want to join in with our social activities.

So, if you are fun loving, like presenting / organising social activities, creative and love NTU and Nottingham this is the perfect role for you!

Still interested? Please complete the application form and return it, along with a photo of yourself, to ntuglobal@ntu.ac.uk.
