No Guts, No Glory: Horror Writing
  • Level(s) of study: Short course
  • Study mode(s): Short course
  • Location: City Campus
  • Starting: 26 July 2018
  • Course duration: Two days

Horror is a growing genre, with new books and films being released on a weekly basis.

Whilst this may safeguard horror writing’s longevity, it does mean there’s increasing competition between writers.

This course will help you develop a successful writing habit and reduce and overcome writers’ block.

It’ll familiarise you with the current horror market, help you refine your own writing skills and ensure you avoid all the amateur mistakes often made by new authors.

Through discussion, practical activities and advice from a published author, you’ll gain practical skills that will boost your own writing ability and productivity to help you overcome some of the challenges you may face.

The course is aimed at anyone who is interested in writing horror, for either pleasure or with the aim of being published. Beginners to writing as well as those with experience are welcome.

What will I gain?

You’ll leave this course with three or four short pieces of creative horror writing that can be a great starting point for further development.

You’ll also have the knowledge of what to do with your text, and where best to get published.
