Writing from Art: Ekphrasis

writing-from-art
  • Level(s) of study: Short course
  • Study mode(s): Short course
  • Location: City Campus
  • Starting: 23 July 2018
  • Course duration: Two days

Learn how to ‘paint with words’ on this course for writers of both prose and poetry.

The course explores ekphrastic writing, where you use art as inspiration in your work and expand its meaning through perspective, character and technique to create your own written masterpiece.

No experience of writing or art is necessary. It’s more important that you just wants to write.

The course is also useful for anyone writing non-fiction who wants to free up their creative thinking, or for artists who wish to write about their work or the work of others.

What will I gain?

You’ll leave with plenty of ideas to stimulate new writing beyond the course, and have started a collection of written pieces that can be developed for publication.

You might also be encouraged to pursue other writing courses.
